    towards Coolagown, Fermoy to carry out a seizure the first person to see them coming would warn the others by blowing a horn. The warning used be spread from one to another by blowing horns and all the stock would be removed before the bailiffs came.

  2. There was a Land League meeting in Castlelyons about sixty years ago. The soldiers cut the drums of the band that came from Conna, Tallow, Co. Waterford, and the people had to fly in all directions. About the same time a meeting was held in Mitchelstown and the police fired on the crowd and they killed a man named Shinnick.
    A meeting to be held in Co. Waterford was proclaimed by the government so the people walked a few miles over the county bounds and held it in county Cork.
