  1. Potatoes are grown on our farm. Each year two acres of land are kept under this crop. Sometimes the amount varies from two acres to two and a half acres.
    The two workmen and my father prepare the ground for the potatoes. Then they manure it before they turn it up.
    We sow the potatoes with a plough. In ancient times wooden ploughs were used, but there are hardly any of them left now:
    The spades and ploughs are not made locally for sowing the potatoes but we buy them in the shops.
    The local neighbours usually help one another in sowing the potatoes. In the Autumn the farmers dig the potatoes. We dig the potatoes with a potato digger. This digger is drawn by two horses.
