- Poll Diarmuid got its name because an old man named Jerry was hiding in a hole near the Western Bridge. He was fishing ther, when it was illegal to fish. Ever since it is known as Poll Diarmuid. It is a very good place for fishing.
The Pakeen got its name from a big stone that is in a field. If you look at it on a moonlight night it has the shape of a dog. It is near Mr. Bowen's land in Castlepark.
There is a place called Thunder Hole. A roll of thunder made a hole in the land in ancient times. Ever since, that particular spot is called Thunder Hole. Thunder Hole is a hole in Castlepark touching the sea. It is opposite Prehane Point.
The Five Stones is a place opposite the World's End. It got its name from the five big stones that are on the strand which nobody could ever break.(continues on next page)- Collector
