The town-fair is always held in a special place on the third Wednesday of the month. Money is paid to the man who sells the cattle. Money is also paid for cattle. Money is also paid for cattle from four pound up to fourteen or fifteen pounds. Some money is nearly always given back to the seller. This is called luck-money.
Animals are always marked when sold. May and June are the best fairs of the year. Horse Fairs are held in Bandon.
