Long's daughter tried to set fire to the Castle but failed. It was given to a common English soldier named Busteed.
Mount Long is now in ruins. Some of the Busteeds are still around the district. One of these families is now Catholic and "Sinn Feiners." The Longs are there too. It is said that some times at night people hear a low moaning going round the Castle and noise like the falling of bodies.
