  1. Saints Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
God bless the bed that I lay on.
There are four corners on my bed.
    There are four angels overhead.
One to guard me, one to guide me
And two to carry my soul to God
if any evil comes to me
    Blessed Lady waken me.

As I went out into the Holy Land
I met the Blessed Virgin with seven Mass Books in her hand
Seven candles lighting, seven priests singing
I shut the gates of hell and I opened the gates of heaven to let the poor souls in.

God bless Friday and Good Friday,
The day Our Savour was crucified
The Jews passed by with sharp spears,
Which pierced Him from the heart to the hand.
His blessed mother was standing by.
With a heavy heart which made a dismal cry.
Those who would preach this prayer three times a day, three times a night.
The gates of hell they will never enter.
