  1. St Brigids Eve. It is said if you put out a piece of cloth on St Brigids Eve, no one would get sick that year.
    St Swithins Day. It is said that on the fifteenth of July when things were to be blessed belonging to St Swithins after his death that there was such a downpour of rain that the cermonies had to be delayed for forty days & thats the reason people say that if it rains on St Swithins day it will rain for forty days after & if its fine it will be fine for forty days.
