  1. Workmen are employed to prepare the ground before the potatoes go in. First it is ploughed & then harrowed. Nearly all ploughs are used now except in case of a small garden where the plough would not fit. In Summer the potatoes are sprayed & rolled to prevent a blight coming on them.
