  1. Long ago in my district the olden people had many kinds of food to eat, Such as oaten meal bread, potatoe bread, Basty and also pancake. The way the oaten meal bread was made in the olden days, was soften with water. It was then flatened out very thing, and baked in front of the fire. There was a grid iron made for that purpose to keep it straight to the fire, while the oaten meal bread was baking. The way the potatoe bread was made, was to boil a few potatoes and then peal them. Then bruise them, and mix flour through the potatoes, Then bake them on the fire on a pan. Basty was made from potatoes, milk and also butter. All the people that lived in those day were never a day sick, because the food that the used to eat was
