  1. Long ago there was a castle in William Halls field and another old castle in John Brennan's field in Cartron. There was one in Cartron where the Hamiltons lived. When that got too old this castle in Lisaneena was built and he went to live in it. Hamilton and his men were waiting for the soldiers one night if the got across the bridge at Collooney they were safe. It was very cold and stormy night and the men would not come because it was so stormy. So Hamptlon went to bed. A lot of men were watching at Annaghmore and an army watching at markree. He called all his men and told them to go to bed that they would not come that night. So they went home and did not watch for them that night. So they came unknown to Hamptlon and (when) went away. Hamptlon was awakened by the noise of the horses. So he got up and went in his skin to Collooney. Most of them were across the bridge and the rest were at walshe's So they got off safe that night.
