  1. In my district there are a great many forts. There is one situated in the lands of John Mc Garry of Cartron,. Another in the lands of John Brennan, and one also in the lands of Mrs Lane of Collooney and also one in the lands of Mr Peter Doyle of Cartron and also two in the lands of Mrs Barlow of Knockbeg near Collooney. All these forts are in view of each other. Every one of these forts is circular in shape. There is in every one a fence of earth, and trees growing on the fence. There is no hole or entrance to any of these forts, but in the centre of every one of them, there is a slight hollow. There is one story told about the fort in John Mc Garry's that there were often lights to be seen, and even
