    flax between the tongue and the iron to knock off the seed-pods. The women came with spinning-wheels and spun it. They used to bring the hanks of thread to the market and sell them at so much a hank. They used to send the to the weaver to get it woven.
    The tow that was taken from the flax was of great used when spun into thread by the spinners wheels.
