    1. It was a belief in olden times if it was an old man and woman that settled the match it was sure to be lucky.
    2. Cabbage and bacon was the feast at the wedding.
    3. The bridegroom would send a man to the girls house with a bottle of whiskey to ask the girl.
    4. The father of the girl would come to dig the man's land.
    5. If an old woman breaks oat-meal bread over the newly wed pair it is supposed to bring luck.
    6. If the girl looks out the key-hole of the door the morning
