  1. 1. There is a fort in Gort 'a Fianna. The fort is round and weird looking bushes grow all around it.
    Near the fort there is an old pond. When this pond was first opened it closed again at midnight. One time a man was watching for the revenue men so that they would not catch the neighbours making poteen whiskey, It was late one night when he was watching, he went up to the fort and lay down and said, If there's anyone here belonging to me call me if the revenue men are coming. At five o' clock he got a stroke on the face and sure enough they were coming.
