    word "mare" was "capall". When the letter was read for her, she got a great fright and called:-
    "Dia ar Sabhail! Sean s' againne na bheathach capall 'muigh & Meriota!

  2. In a field convenient to Culdaff Bay there is a square patch where no grass grows. The reason no grass grows here is because one time a man was driving a horse and cart in this field, suddenly the horse turned round and killed the man. His blood covered this patch and the horse ran away and no one knows where it went. And from that day to this where the man was killed, no grass grew. The horse was believed to have been a fairy horse.
