Fairs are held onece a month & the people sell their vegetables, eggs milk etc. - . In many parts of Galway "luck penny" is parded, for example if a man wanted a horse and paid twenty-five for it the other might give him back a pound as a "luck penny".
In Oldkilcullen a fair used to be held there on the "Green" long ago and the ordeals used to be settled with blackthorn sticks.
