  1. There is a round-tower on Old Kilcullen Hill about a mile from Kilcullen. Their is a tunnel from the tower to Newaby. Long ago when the Danes were fighting the Irish the priests used to hide in the tunnel, say Mass in it and keep the holy things in it. There is an old ruins in Newaby and my Father said a priest died and he used to be seen on the Altar every night. He used to say "Is there anybody to serve my Mass" A priest served it and he was never seen again.
