- Long ago the churns the people had were called dash churns These were madde like a barrell, wide in the bottom and narrow in the top with a lid. In this lid there was a big hole for the handle of the dash. The dash was made of a round piece of timber about an inch thick and alot of small holes to let the milk through them.
They first scolded the churn with boiling water and then rinched it with cold water. Then the threw in the cream and put down the dash in it. Then the put on the lid. Then they slipped down a round piece of timber(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
