  1. They used to make ropes out of rushes. This is how they used to make them. They would get green rushes and beetle them till the white came out. They would put the beetled rushes in a pot to boil for an hour, or else put them in a bog hole for a fort-night. They would dry them then and twist them in to ropes. These ropes were called Tuighe Buspach. They were used for tieing cows.
