  2. If the people are going to churn they will either churn when the sun is set or before it gets up in the morning. Some people do go out and get a rowan / round tree rod and make a gad out of the rod and put it on the churndash over the lid. The people say that if you wash your hands with the few of May morning that your hands would be able to open
