    ago. They used to get strips of bog oak[?] and clean and dry them. The people used to hang this on a wall and light it. That was the first kind of light the people in this district had. Another kind of light the people had was an ink bottle, with a broken writing pin sticking up in it. Around this pin used be put a piece of "Cordroy". This they used to set fire to.
