- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There are a lot of things done on Ash Wednesday. Firstly the people get blessed ashes rubbed on their forehead on that day. There are some tricks played on that day. There are ashie-bags tied on the unmarried boys and girls and these are left on them until they find them on themselves. The youngsters used to regard this day a very enjoyable one and enjoy greatly the fun of tying "ashie-bags" on the bachelors. There are not any customs connected with St. Patrick's Day except the ones that are common everywhere. The people wear a little piece of shamrock on that day. They also were something green or a green badge.
There is another festival at Easter. There are a lot of things done on that day. The children are delighted when this time comes as it is the custom to eat an extra number of eggs on this day.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
