There are ashie-bags tied on the unmarried boys and girls and these are left on them until they find them on themselves. The youngsters used to regard this day a very enjoyable one and enjoy greatly the fun of tying "ashie-bags" on the bachelors. There are not any customs connected with St. Patrick's Day except the ones that are common everywhere. The people wear a little piece of shamrock on that day. They also were something green or a green badge.
