    woman called Freeman also owned another one. She used to wear a long cloak that used to touch her heels. The fair generally lasted a week and it always ended up with a fight - the victors pushing back the defeated as far as Lisabuck Lake. There the victors would wash the defeated. It is not so long ago since the fair was held there.

    This village existed up to about forty or fifty years ago. It was inhabited by a lively and disorderly people, most of the inhabitants had some kind of a trade and lived by the money they got. It was inhabited by brick-makers, tinkers, poteen makers, carpenters and other tradesmen. The inhabitants attended all the cockfights. It was said that no stranger ever came out alive out of the village exept one. This man was Wesley. One time he was in the village and he got drunk. He was tackled by the towns people but he fought his way out. He always afterwards boasted of his great deed and always said "I fought at Brinnelstown where a mad dog wouldn't fight." A man called Brennan, a famous hunter came from that village. It was said that when the fox would go out of view he could scent its track.
