   Once upon a time there lived a man by the name of Paidín He lived with his wife in a little thatched house on the side of the road He was very poor and he had to cut wood in the forest and sell it in the nearest town His wife was not very right in the head and she tormented him at times
   One evening as Paidín was coming home from his work he met a beautiful man. He stopped to talk to him "What has left you out so late" said the man. "I am very poor" said Paidín "and I was cutting wood in the forest "I will let you have three wishes" said the man "Very well" said Paidín and he began to wish
   "I wish I could get three people more follish than my wife" he said "You have spoiled one wish", said the man, "but you have still two more wishes". Paidín began to wish again "I have a neighbour and he lets his cows into my meadow every night when I have gone to bed. The next night he lets them in, that one of them may stick in the gap when she is coming out. Secondly I sent the making of a suit of
