    Come all you commercial men and traders of the globe.
    Who keep a donkey and a lad as I do on the road.
    Let you beware what sort of care to your donkey you will give.
    For you do not know what hardship is so long as she does live.
    I once had a faithful little ass and Joker was her name.
    The poor old creature when she dies I'll never get the same.
    It was soda bread and bacon fat I always got my fill since I first saw my Joker.
    It was on the Gallows hill.
    It was Waston made the bargin
    A half a sovereign I did
