    The bean Side is a fairy woman she cries for some families. It is said that she is a little white woman. One night there was a dance in a man's barn in the townland of Crosserlough and the man of the house was going out to gather the money for the Fiddler. When he was going out he saw a little white woman coming down the field and across the "street," he put out his hands to catch her but she went through his hands like a ball of wool and started to cry. She was crying for the family in the next house.

    There were three families in this district, two in Crosserlough called Smiths and Bradys, and another in Keenagh named Tullys. Since those families have died out the Bean-Side never has been heard. One night there was a man "overboard" in Tullys and the Bean Side came and cried
