    One night there was a man going past a fort which had a house on the edge of it. As he was going past a child was handed out through the window. He went home with it. He went into the house and up to the room. There was another child in the bed crying. He gave the child to the mother and took the child that was in the bed and put it in the fire to burn it. It ran up the chimney and didn't get a scorch. It is said that it was the fairies that had exchanged the children.

    There was once a man coming to a fort and he went in and slept in it. In the morning when he awoke he felt strange. Ever after he was called a fairy man. He could tell what was going on everywhere even when he was at home. There was once a man called Terence Galligan from Denn. He went to the "fairy man" on business and Terence had a half quarter of tobacco and a shilling
