   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   In Ballinaglera there's anguish from Dowra to Doon,
   For Father DeLacy is dead and laid in the tomb.
   So gentle and humble with a heart kind and pure.
   He was loved by the rich and adored by the poor.

   With his kind, cultured father all friends sympathise,
   With his sisters and brothers who loved him likewise.
   To countless relations our sorrow extends
   Pray, pray for his soul at least you his friends.

   There's sorrow and gloom in Glangevlin to-day
   Enshrouded in grief for a son passed away.
   No saintlier priest in all Ireland than he
   Enshrined in our hearts shall his memory be.

   Oh it is well I remember the days that are gone
   When Patrick and I oft to school strolled so long.
   O'er Moneen's rough road and by "Attys" old byre
   To the school on the hill taught by his noble [sir]
