- (continued from previous page)Styles on the eyes were cured by picking ten thorns from a gorse bush in the name of the “Father, son and Holy Ghost”. One was thrown away and the remainder was pointed towards the eye, each morning for three mornings. They were said to be very successful in curing.
Mumps
Mumps were cured by putting a halter around the sufferers neck and by leading him into a pig sty. On entering, a small stone was thrown in after him and these words were said “ Muchlach, Muchlach, Seoul chugat an leicne?”

This is written on-a piece of paper which is worn with around the neck.?
