  1. In the past it was thought unlucky to get married in the month of May and it was thought lucky to get married in. Most people got married in September.
    Monday for health.
    Tuesday for wealth.
Wednesday the best day of all.
    Thursday for losses.
    Friday for Crosses.
And Saturday no day at all.
Most people get married from the sixth of January to Shrove Tuesday because they cannot get married during Lent. In the olden times the people went to the wedding in sidecars and on horse back.
When a boy and a girl got married the girl was not supposed to visit her own house for a month. The girl also got presents from her neighbours and friends.
In the olden times the weddings took place at about two o'clock. The father of the girl gave her money for a fortune. The night of the wedding there is a feast held in the girl's house.
Straw boys come to the house on the night of the wedding. They disguise themselves with vizards and long clothes like women.
