  1. Years ago it is said a robber named Franey hid a boot of gold in the big wood in Poulmounty. A sword was stuck in the ground over the treasure. Maggie Behan was gathering sticks and saw the sword. She went down for her mother but when they went up they could not find it. Franey was a very clever man. He used to put the shoes backways on his horse to disguise him from his enemies. It is said he hid it between the light of Paddy Leacey's and Thomas Ryan's
