- When the present mill at St Mullins was built about one hundred years ago a large part of the old monasteries was destroyed in providing material and the story says that every night a white horse used to gallop through the mill and destroy part of the machinery.
Some of the old people who died recently are said to have heard the horse going through the mill at night; When any thing goes wrong in the mill now at night you will hear the men say that the white horse was around.
