    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    The old house in Co. Wexford were made of mud and clay. In other places the houses were made of mud and stones. Wexford had no stones in that time and that is the reason why most of the houses in Co. Wexford were made of mud and clay.
    The roofs of the houses were thatched. The floors were made of a sticky clay, well wetted and trampled and made a hard clay floor.
    Furze bushes cut into faggots allowed to wither made very good fires. Old withered dung gathered in from the field was also used for making fires.
    Half doors are common in this district. Candles were made by Biddy Bartle.
