  1. May marriages are thought to be unlucky. Money is given as a dowry to most people particularly in the farming community.Stock is sometimes given to make up the dowry.
Unlucky days:- Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all. Thursday for losses, Fridays for crosses, Saturday the worst day of all,and Sunday no day at all..Most people observe these old sayings.
Customs:-A green dress is supposed to be unlucky for a bride. Something old, something borrowed, and something blue are in many cases by the bride.Weddings where Nuptial Mass is celebrated are held in the morning, at the church in the brides Parish. After the Ceremony, the guests attend a breakfast at the brides home or sometimes at a hotel. Then the usual toast to the brides and bridegrooms health is drank, and the bridecake is cut by the bride.
After-wards they leave on their honey-moon trip.
