    In the south end of Wexford town is a rock called "Maiden Tower Rock". It is about twenty feet high and a lot of heather is growing on it.
    There was a hunt up there long ago and one of the girls said she would follow the fox wherever it would go.
    Towards evening they awakened the fox and it ran up one side of the rock and down to the other side, The girl mounted up the rock and forced her horse down the off-side of it. When the horse was going down, it slipped and fell. Both horse & girl were killed. Ever since it has been called "Maiden Tower Rock".
