    brother's Lacey's took part in the battle. Tom Lacey and his brother Willie were killed at the Three Bullet Gate. Young Jimmy was killed in Wexford street. The mother went the next day with her pony and cart, taking a pattern of clothes which they wore so that she would know them because the British soldiers had a habit of hacking the faces of the dead rebels. She found her three sons and brought them home to Carnagh graveyard and with the help of some friends and neighbours they were buried there. No stone or slab mark their graves and more is the pity.
