    In the case of a newly calved cow it is the custom in our district to light a blessed candle and burn the hair off her udder. The first milk taken from a cow is called the foremilk, and it is used for calves and pigs. The last part or second milking is used for churning.
    Horses are kept in a stable at night in the Winter and Spring. They are fed extra well in Spring on account of the heavy Spring work they have to do.
    The various breeds of fowl that we have are the "White Wyandotte". the "Leghorn" and the "Radion Reds."The breed of the ducks we have are "Runners," and the "Cearcy Camels."
