    The first that are dug are used for eating about the month of July. They are left to ripen until late Autumn. Then they are dug up with spades or potato diggers and stored in clay pits during the Winter months.
    The various seed potatoes sown in this district are "Kerr Pinks," "Epicures," "Aaron Victors," "Irish Chiefs." "Irish Queens," and "Champions". The "Champions" potato produces the best results in the soil of this district. It is a very dry and good eating potato.
    Spades are bought in the local shops. The shopkeepers purchase them from different Dublin Firms. They also get them from a Clones Firm. At present all farm agricultural implements are made in Wexford.
