  1. There are not many old emblems in this district. The people of this district make crosses of straw on St. Brigids night. They plat two straws together and tie to them at the top and bottom with tread. Then they plat two more straws and tie them at the ends. they put these two straws across the other two, and tie them in the center and the cross is made. The people of this district hang up holly at Xmas.
