- Long ago there were many beautiful prayers but unfortunately few of them are heard now. It is believed that their whole life consisted of prayers and hard work. They had a prayer for every act they did during the day.
In the morning when getting up they said:-"Christ be with me, be after me, be before me, and be at my right and left hand, and may every thing I do, be for Christ"
There is another to Saint Michael, it is:-"Blessed Saint Michael save us in the day of battle that we may not be lost on the day of judgement"
They also said a prayer when kindling the fire:-"Oh my Jesus warm my heart with the fire that (is) in Thy Sacred Heart."
This is another aspiration said when dressing:-"Lord! Clothe me with the role of innocence."
When the men were going to the fair their wives would say:-"God be with them now, and bring them home safe with their share of stock or money."
During thunder and lightening they said:-"O! Lord be between us and harm and protect us from the harms of the world."
