  1. The storm of 1903 was the most severe in the memory of living man. It was on the twenty sixth of February. It blew down nearly half the trees of Clonyn and the roads were impaasable for many days with fallen trees. It stripped many dwelling houses and out-houses of their roofs, it caused considerable loss to the farmers by blowing down stacks of oats and hay in their haggards. It was even said that sheaves of oats and hay were found in the bushes around this locality after being blown over three miles of bog from the hills of Richardstown and my father found a hat on his
