  2. St Patrick is the patron saint of this parish Castletown chapel is dedicated to Saint Patrick and Saint Brigid. There is a stained glass window behind the alter with the image of Saint Patrick and Saint Brigid on it. Saint Patrick is supposed to have passed through this parish on his way to Slane. He rested for a while and took a drink out of a well which is since known as Saint Patrick's well. Patrick is the most common name in this district. His feast day is the seventeenth of March. Long ago the people used to dispute as to what day was his birthday. Some said
