  1. I heard a priest named Rev Hugh Cullen preaching in Castletown chapel some years ago. He said that the reason it got the name Castletown-Kilpatrick was that when St Patrick was travelling through Ireland he probably said Mass in this church and that that was why it was given the name Castletown Kilpatrick. There is a holy well at Mr. Harlins of Castletown in Mr. McKeever's land. It is called St. Patrick's well and the track of where he was kneeling is there yet and the track of the crozier where he left it down. His feastday is held on the 17th March and the reason it is held on the 17th is that some time ago there was a dispute in Ireland about it. One half of the people said it was on the ninth and the other half said that it was on the eight, so they had a faction fight
