  1. About six or seven years ago a travelling man called to our district named Oweny Mac Kamee. He was usually called Oweny the Basket because he carried a basket with him. He travelled round this district for 45 years. He was very poor.
    He sold pins, hair pins, studs, laces, tie pins, needles, clips, small pictures, buttons and cloth. Many people bought articles from him. He was welcomed in every house he went to.
    He came to this district on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. He never remained over a night in this district. He slept in Drogheda.
    He carried his food with him each day and he cooked it in the houses.
    He travelled singly on foot. This travelling folk does not visit out
