  1. Old people were very holy and religious long ago. All the work they did was in the name of God.
    The following prayer is said when retiring to bed at night.
    "As I look up as I look down
    I see the blessed heaven all
    around."
    I see the Blessed Lady
    And the Blessed Gospel in her hand.
    Seven masses she did say.
    Seven bells she did ring.
    For her own dear Son.
    Good Friday before noon
    The Jews did come
    To pierce our Saviour through heart
