  1. Long ago the old people were very holy and religious. All their works were done in the name of God. The people made many prayers which were never put on paper. Some of these prayers still exist.
    The following prayer is said when rising in the morning
    "O My God! I give Thee thanks for having taken me over the night in the beginning of another day
    Grant that I may pass the remains of my life
    In worthy acts of praise and thanksgiving."
    Before starting work the following prayer is said.
    "In the name of God and God grant good work."
    Before they went on a journey the old people always blessed themselves and said,
