  1. There are old forts in nearly everyones farm in this district. They were supposed to be built by the Danes when they came to Ireland first for the purpose of defending themselves from their foes. They were also made to protect the Danes from wild boars and many other wild animals which were plentiful in Ireland at that time, They were built opposite each other and are supposed to be inhabited by fairies now.
