- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The fairies then took the hump off his back and he went on his journey to the fair. All the people did not know him at the fair for some time as he was as straight as any man in the fair. Another hunchback heard that Madden was cured of his hump so he came to Paddy to inquire. Madden told him the story exactly as it happened and he also went to the moat the following morning. He remained until he heard the fairies singing their song and he joined in with them and sang "Dia Luain, Dia Máirt, Dia Ceádaoin, Daordaoin, Dia h-Aoine, Dia Sathairn. When the song was finished the fairies came out and brought him into the moat. He was taken before the queen and she said she was very much offended by his singing. She then said to all the fairies "what punishment will we inflict on him for spoiling our song." The fairies all agreed to put the other man's hump on his back also. He then went home bent to the ground and for the remainder of his life he carried Paddy Madden's hump as well as his own.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
