About seventy years ago Mr. Carroll went to O'Connors fort to cut some of the trees as firewood. When he had part of a tree cut down a fairy appeared before him. He was about two feet in height, with a red coat and a red peaked hat. He ordered him to leave the fort at once of if not an evil would befall him. Mr. Carroll left the place and he did not venture to interfere with a fort from that onwards.
