The men were selected from a big radius, as parish rules did not exist. Great active men were asked to play, as to the side they favoured. In this match some men came to play for Dromcollogher from Knocktoosh, one man's name was John Duggan, now deceased, and he was a schoolmaster. It was only after the foundation of the G. A. A. that a proper ground was marked, within the field, and posts were put at each end to mark the goal and point scores. The number of men allowed to play on either side was about 21. There was a good Club in Dromcollogher about this time, and they
